Our Philosophy
At RhodeWay Financial, we believe that many people who could benefit greatly from a sound financial plan, generally do not have access the services. We started RhodeWay Financial in 2022 as a grant-funded nonprofit organization dedicated to the belief that solid financial planning should be available to everyone. We have developed a network of like-minded professionals who are committed to providing comprehensive financial planning services to underserved populations in Rhode Island.

Kevin Connaughton, CFP® President & Financial Planner
Kevin began his financial services career in 1987 after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Rhode Island. Kevin retired from Columbia Threadneedle Investments in 2015 and returned to school. He became a special consultant to a Columbia Funds Board in 2016 and earned a Master of Finance degree from Bentley University in 2017. Kevin was asked to join the Board of the Columbia Funds in 2020. In addition to his work with RhodeWay Financial and the Columbia Funds Board, Kevin was also an adjunct professor of finance at Bentley University for five years, ending in 2022.
Cameron Connaughton, Vice President: Head of Business Development & Paraplanner
Cameron graduated from St. Michael's College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He worked for New York Life from 2018 to 2019 before joining JKC Consulting. He received a professional certificate in Financial Planning through the Bryant University CFP® Program in 2021 and worked with his father to launch RhodeWay Financial in 2022.
